Keep Skincare Simple
Hello Beautiful! Are you exhausted from all these articles, posts, and videos telling you that you NEED to add this or that as part of your skincare routine? Me too, so what is actually necessary for your skincare routine? Let’s go over what you need based on your skin type.
Normal Skin
If your skin is never too dry or too oily, with a regular texture, you have a normal skin type. For your skin type, here’s what you need:
Daily cleanser: I have a couple of great options on my website for you.
Daily moisturizer: The Quench moisturizer on my website is perfect for your skin.
Occasional facial: Because everyone needs an occasional facial. Book yours here.
Sensitive Skin
If your skin is sensitive, it is more prone to react to different stimuli. Your skin is fragile and could react in different ways (ie. redness, tightness, heat, or itching). For your skin type, here’s what you need:
Daily cleanser (sensitive): For your skin, I would recommend the Cleanse product.
Daily moisturizer (sensitive): This is the perfect, light-weight moisturizer for you.
SPF: Sensitive skin like yours needs extra protection. Here’s a great option.
Gentle Serum: Aptly named, this serum will calm your sensitive skin.
Occasional facial: Because everyone needs an occasional facial. Book yours here.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is typically a temporary skin type that can be caused by cold weather, low air humidity, and immersion in hot water. For dry skin, I typically recommend you use:
Daily Cleanser (sensitive): For your skin, I would recommend the Cleanse product.
Daily Moisturizer: This is what you need lots of. Here is the moisturizer for you.
Facial Oil: This restorative oil will help repair your dry skin flooding it with moisture.
Repair Serum: This facial serum will repair and rescue your dry skin.
Eye Cream: The first places you should make sure stay hydrated are the areas around your eyes. You can use this cream to lock in moisture.
Occasional facial: Because everyone needs an occasional facial. Book yours here.
Oily Skin
Oily skin has a porous, humid, and bright appearance. The cause is excessive fat production by sebaceous glands in the skin. Here’s what will be best for you:
Daily cleanser: For your skin, I recommend our Purify cleanser.
Daily moisturizer (sensitive): This is the perfect, light-weight moisturizer for you.
Clarify Serum: This serum works to normalize oil production to create a clear complexion.
Occasional facial: Because everyone needs an occasional facial. Book yours here.
Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated, in fact, it shouldn’t be. Let’s simplify in 2021!

Light Therapy Skincare
Hello Beautiful! With all the new skincare trends of 2021 flooding in, I am really excited about light therapy facials and skincare! New to skincare or light therapy? No worries! This is your guide to getting started.
What is Light Therapy Skincare?
Light Therapy is a skincare treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light, including red and blue, to obtain therapeutic benefits. LED is an effective modality to promote the healing of skin wounds. It takes less time than a traditional facial and it has proven to be effective at accomplishing results to your skincare goals.
Light Therapy by Tana Marie Skincare
One of my favorite facials to give is the Celluma LED Light Therapy Facial. This facial will rejuvenate skin by increasing collagen and elastin production (red light). It treats all grades of acne, including P. acnes bacteria, decreasing inflammation, and increasing microcirculation (blue light). Using blue, red, and near-infrared LED light simultaneously or alone can deliver powerful results. All treatments come with a double cleansing (extractions when indicated), a treatment serum, and a moisturizer applicable to your skin type.
Benefits of Light Therapy
Light Therapy is great for so many reasons:
Increasing collagen and tissues
Decreasing/lightening age spots
Smooth skin
Less downtime
Less expensive
Reduce damage from acne and wrinkles
Reduce the appearance of fine lines
Gives you a healthy glow
Locks in skin’s moisture
Promote anti-inflammatory effects
I could go on with these benefits, but maybe we should just talk about what you want to specifically accomplish to get a better idea of how light therapy can serve your skin. Message me on Facebook or book a free skin consultation to get started.

The Importance of Self Care
Hello Beautiful! Whew! 2020 has been a year and now more than ever we need to talk about the importance of self-care.
What is Self-Care?
Self-care encompasses everything you do for your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Sounds simple right? Not exactly, because many of us forget to do this in at least some way, once a day. This is why we have to talk about it because once you recognize the little things you can do for yourself every day to improve your overall well-being.
How Can I Practice Self-Care?
It can be little things like not checking your emails at night, when you know it affects your sleep and leads you down different thought paths. Something a little bigger? Draw yourself a bath after a long day, sit in it for as long as you like, and relax. Even bigger? Book yourself a facial with me ;) Self-care can be anything you do to make yourself feel better each day.
Why is Self-Care Important?
Self-Care encourages you to allow yourself to relax and take time for yourself. If you feel good, others feel good around you, but you cannot give to others what you do not give to yourself. Self-care is NOT selfish. It’s considering your needs and prioritizing your well-being. When you do this, you give yourself energy and confidence to anything.
How Else Can I Practice Self-Care?
Pay attention to your physical health: Whatever you do, make sure to move your body, because movement is medicine. Yoga, barre, and morning walks are some great ways to move and flow with your body.
Get enough sleep: Don’t forget, you need to recharge at night too. Getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night will significantly improve your mood and energy.
Eat foods that make you happy: If it doesn’t make you happy, then why not switch it out for something that does.
Start each day with what you’re thankful for
Learn to say “no” to things that don’t fulfill you
Self-care comes in many different forms and that’s why we need to talk about it. Whatever works for you, whatever matters to you, that’s what self-care is. If you want to chat more about self-care, let’s do it while you’re caring for yourself at the same time during an appointment with me ;) Book here!

Tana Marie
This, not That
Hello Beautiful! I’ve been hearing about a lot of different fad skincare products that influencers and celebrities just rave about that aren’t the best for your skin. Because of this, I am starting a segment called this, not that. You wouldn’t feed your body food that is not good for you, so why would you feed your skin products that don’t help it?
Facial Wipes: These are great for the girl on the go, but they don’t give you the best cleanse. Used daily, makeup remover wipes can create friction and tear your skin. They also contain a lot of alcohol and preservatives that are not good for sensitive skin.
Instead, Use A gentle facial cleanser that will actually clear out your pores. I have some great options.
Biore Pore Strips: These strips can also cause tears in your skin or further irritate already sensitive skin.
Instead, Use A gentle, deep-cleansing toner. Here is my favorite toner: Face Reality’s Calming Facial Toner with beautiful hints of rose, perfect for dry/normal skin types, or Sal C-Toner, great for oily/acneic skin types. Book here.
Peel-Off Mask: These popular peel-off masks may help remove dirt and buildup from your pores, they also remove precious skin cells and even vellus hair, leaving skin raw and ready for irritation. Charcoal cannot identify between the good and bad cells, so it removes them all.
Instead, Use Come see me ;) Instead of a store-bought peel-off mask, we can talk about some DIY options and give you a results-oriented facial while we’re at it. Book your appointment here.
There are so many fads out there that claim to be great for your skin but do not give you the benefits they promise. If you are ever questioning a product or want to talk about what’s right for your skin, send me a message on Facebook. Let’s chat it out :)

What is a Nano-Infusion Facial?
Hello Beautiful! With the dry fall and winter months coming up, I just have to recommend my nano-infusion facial. Let’s dive in and chat about what it is!
My Nano-Infusion Facial Experience
This treatment includes a double cleanse, dermaplaning, a light enzyme peel, a facial massage, and nano infusion with a complex blend of rejuvenating oils that awaken your skin cells. Your skin will drink up this amazing elixir, showing off a beautiful, youthful glow! This is a great treatment for dry skin.
What is a Nano-Infusion Facial?
Nano infusion refers to an intensive transdermal delivery of active ingredients to effectively treat esthetic skin conditions. It can be used as an adjunct treatment to microdermabrasion, peels, or LED light treatment. It is an alternative to microneedling (sometimes). This treatment is not microneedling, but it is 100% safe, non-invasive and only enters the top layer of the skin. There is little to no downtime, yet extremely effective.
The handheld device uses many pyramid-like nano heads. Each head is smaller than a human hair made of crystalline silicon, which is flexible, unlike the metal needles. When they touch the skin, peptides can be infused in the skin.
The result is that skin cells are separated and re-arranged to allow nutrition to pass through the skin barrier to provide 1000% more absorption to feed the skin.
Nano infusion is clinically proven to improve:
Refining skin texture
Hyperpigmentation
Fine lines and wrinkles
Tighten skin
Can be used just above the eye and over the lip
Peptides or stem cells can be infused into the skin
This treatment should be booked monthly to improve the skin’s texture and hydration. Book your nano-infusion facial here.
I can’t wait to see you!
XOXO,
Tana Marie

What are Enzyme Peels?
Hello Beautiful! You’ve heard about them, you might even have experienced them, but you’re still curious either what it is or the benefits of an enzyme peel. Allow me to explain. We will also chat about the fun advantages of enzyme peels over chemical peels.
Enzymes, a Quick Summary
Have you ever eaten pineapple and felt a little tingle on your tongue? Those would be enzymes and believe it or not, we can use them in facials to attain amazing results.
Enzymes are naturally derived active ingredients found in many fruits. Pomegranate, Pumpkin, Papaya, Pineapple, and Figs are a few examples. They act fast to dissolve dead skin to reveal smoother, healthier skin. They’re potent, but non-abrasive exfoliants for all skin types.
Enzyme peels exfoliate your skin by removing dead skin cells. Other benefits include anti-aging, clear skin, minimized pores, and clearing acne scars.
Enzyme Peel vs. Chemical Peel
While both types of peels yield benefits for your gorgeous skin, there are certain skin types that would benefit more from an enzyme peel.
Sensitive or easily-irritated skin. Like I said before, enzyme peels work hard to exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells much like chemical peels. The wonderful difference is that enzyme peels, because of their nature, won’t irritate your skin like chemical peels sometimes can. The purpose of a peel is to exfoliate and prepare your skin to soak in the necessary moisture it needs to be glowy and soft. Enzyme peels do just that, and they’re all-natural.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women. When you’re pregnant, you would do anything to protect your baby and there are so many things to be vigilant of. One way you can protect your skin and your baby is to opt for an enzyme peel instead. Always be sure to speak with your doctor first.
Those with weaker immunity. Anyone who has a history of a weak immune system or recently discovered their immune system is compromised should receive an enzyme peel because the natural products in the peel do not contain harmful ingredients. Always be sure to speak with your doctor first.
